Default ABS light and check engine light on after abs module replacement

Hi I have a 01 volvo s60 that I replaced the abs module on. Prior to replacing the module my stc and abs lights were on, now the stc light is gone but the abs light is on and the message center says brake failure safely stop asap. I have seen some people say that the alternator and battery could be the problem but those are brand new as well and test fine. If anyone has suggestions i would greatly appreciate it.

use an OBD code reader to pull the ABS fault codes (note not all readers support ABS so you may need to see if Autozone etc will lend you one). The codes will tell you what's setting off the light - could be a wheel sensor, could be the ABS pump, could be the controller board etc. You also will want to clear those codes to see if they return. Also check out sites like Midwest ABS, xemodex and roachtek on symptoms of a failing ABS controller board.
