i just got my 06 s60 2.5t
im looking to add more horse power so i can race it more although its already pretty fast. i dont have a goal on a certain amount just alot and price range is quite high right now so what can i do thats easy to do and doesnt require hours and hours of bolting on

1. What is your price range. High doesn't mean anything. High to you could be $1.000 and high to me could be $10,000.

2. You have to have a an Hp goal in mind. So what is it?

 

Trade-it in and get the R. Put the money you save on the upgrades into an IRA.

Just curious, why get a Volvo S60 if you want to race?

 

ok well my price is around 15 to 20 grand and a goal of hp id like to have is around 350-400 is what id really like



and for s60r i bought it cuz it was a hell of a deal and it is still brand new and also ive raced my srt4 against some and they actually kept up pretty well and my srt4 was a stage 2 full of boltons

 

S60 2.5t:

208hp/236ft lbs
3300 lbs
0-60 in 7.3
1/4 mile in 15.5

Neon srt4:

230hp/250ft lbs
2900 lbs
0-60 in 5.4sec
1/4 mile in 14

The Neon is even a tick faster than the R. So if you're looking to buy a speed racer, this probably isn't the platform to start with. It's a sport luxury car that has enough hp and speed to make the owner happy, but not enough to take to the track. Yeah, you can make ANY car an 11 sec racer with enough money, but I don't forsee you breaking into the 13's for under 20k. Plus you're never going to be able to do it with just bolt-ons.

There are a number of things you CAN do to make your car faster though. A computer upgrade will raise your boosta afull exhaust from the down pipe back, a cone filter, and a FMIC. But you're looking at 3-4 grand easily. Why not just look into buying an R which has a bigger turbo, upgraded internals, AWD, sportier suspension etc.
