Default Aftermarket Exhaust Question

I want to replace my exhaust, but i dont want to pay a shop $600, $700, or even 800$ plus parts for it.
I can get a 7ft long 3" stainless steel pipe for $50.
Then buy a magnaflow high flow muffler, and is that all?
I dont want to replace the downpipe too right now.
I got the ideas from this... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2634242/4
Anyone with any imput would be good.
My friend has a pipe bender, and my neighbor welds for a living.. so i think i might be able to save myself $500..

Whats everyone think?

Thanks,
Paul.

If your planning on doing it yourself I'd go with the volvo OEM part and pay the little extra price. Dont cut corners when it comes to the exahust system.

How are you going to bend the pipe? Do you have a bender?

But yes you can do this.

I dont personally own one.
But my friend has one.
Or I could rent one for $40 a day.
And just spend a day on making an exhaust.
It will still be way cheaper than $700.

Also is it as simple as those pics of that guys car, that i left.
Or is there something im missing?

What I was getting at was. Your still going to have to have someone fab it for you. Un;ess you know how to do it.

Also does he have a mandrel bender or a crush bend machine?

Ok..
What is there to do when it comes to fabricating bend it, weld it, and put it up?
And if i replace that do i have to add, bigger injectors, and change the airbox to let more air in?

Thanks for any quick response.

It has to be cut, bent, fitted, prob welded. And don't forget the o2 sensors, there's twoIIRC. There's no need to uprgade the injectors unless you're putting in a larger turbo, intercooler, etc.
