Alarm system

Default Alarm system

Yes I have a 2001 S60T and when I get in the car and turn the key on a message say "alarm system service required". I have look at the fuse for the alarm siren and it is good. Need help with this thanks.

The siren module is failing. You can replace it yourself and save the dealership costs.

The pictorial uses a S80, but it is almost identical to the S60. It does mention drilling the tamper screw, but I found that it can be removed using pliers and a lot of force!

Not too much force really, just use small or medium vise grips.

Only thing is it should be calibrated by your dealer, but its up to you. May work.

Hey, thanks ikey for the suggested site. It was a big help, I got a new siren module from the dealership and it took about 10-20 min to install and calibrate it with the key fob.
