Default Alignment issues- tire wear

SO i put new tires on the S60 last summer. I had the wheels aligned as well. I noticed the rear suspension has some camber to it...I had asked the shop to give me ZERO camber in the back. I'm not as concerned about ultimate cornering as i am about tire wear....so they said it wasn't adjustable in the back..Great ! now my rear tires look like crap already on the inside edge....anyone else have this issue? Do i need to "customize" my rear control arms? Thanks

Was the camber out of spec?

What year is the car?

the car is an 04 AWD. They said the rear camber was NOT adjustable. Do these cars really eat tires? I noticed my snows got eaten on the inner edges as well.

They are correct, it is not adjustable. But that doesn't mean it can't be measured. Did they give you a printout after the alignment? They don't usually eat tires.

OK they did give me a sheet- camber LR -0.9, RR -1.1 says the proper range is -1.3 to 0.7...so they said it was OK. the fronts show less camber....LF -0.5 RF -0.6 . The right rear tire shows more wear on the inside than the others.

front left .06 right .07 rear left .08 right .03 total toe in rear .11 ( range 0.00 to .4) again they said it was in spec when completed. I noticed that the snow tires were really loud on this car. same tires on other cars of mine are not so loud and they didn't wear as fast..

I usually set the toe closer to equal (that right rear is in spec, but could be better).

Otherwise, the alignment is fine. You may have some worn shocks. I've also seen a couple instances where the bushing where the toe adjustment bolt passes through breaks and causes play.

What kind of tires are they?

These are cooper Zeon RS3's....their not 60, 000 mile tires...but they should be this goofed up from one summer season. I take them off in the winter and put on snows....I'll check for free play under there....I'll also check to see if there's a way to get these wheel straight up and down! this is no track car! I've already got one of them..

I would suspect shocks or the tires first. The alignment is in spec. I've never seen them chew up tires without a suspension issue or bad tires.

Default C-70 tire wear

I have a 2009 c-70 and since my wife hit a curb, I have a serious issue with this car eating tires from inside. I had to replace the support arms, and have been told these sport tires are only good for about 20k. Pilot tires are very expensive. Can I put a cheaper tire on this thing?

well try the parts i found and see if they help you. I haven't had the time to put them on my car...of course it hasn't gone anywhere in weeks anyway...it seems to have eaten another set of rear wheel bearings.....gotta change them out this weekend.
