Default Anti skid service??

OK, so new car has warning 'Anti skid service required'

Now I believe this means that the sensor in the steering column, called steering angle sensor, squib sensor, and variations in between, is faulty. Easily sorted but the few I have found either new, £250+ or used, £100+

Would you risk used? If so, any suggestions where I might look? Flebay doesn't have much

Will it do any harm if left for a while as I sort other things like brakes?

Rather than throwing parts at the car to see what sticks and fixes the problem I would get the codes read. May lead to something unrelated to the steering angle sensor.

Found this article.

Suspect that they sell the sensor as well.

Thanks ... I just assumed the angle sensor. Never even considered a software issue.
