Default Anti skid service required

Hi I have a Volvo s40 2010, lately it's coming up on the dash anti skid service required reduced engine performance. And the car is going into limp mode. I have to turn car off and switch on again.. Any suggestions

moved your thread to the s40 board. Did you have the car scanned for any fault codes? It may be a wheel sensor or an issue with the ABS controller. Did you have any recent brake work etc?

On S60 models, my experience is that the problem is related to the steering angle sensor. I agree with above - you can't do anything until you get codes.

I have the same problem, but i have fault code P1264. Any ideas??

That code could be referring to a speed sensor signal which disagrees with a signal from the cruise control module. Given this is vehicle specific, your next step should be to have a dealer or volvo friendly shop do a deeper scan with a VIDA system to intepret the proprietary data correctly.
