My local indy shop recommends Michelin tires over the stock Pirelli tires. They say they are quieter and last longer. I only need summer tires, so I am using the Hankook Ventus V12 tire. They are quieter and a bit softer than the Pirellis. I haven't has had any problems with them and they don't seem to be wearing quickly (Around 4000mi on them so far).

Ive had good luck with Yokohama tires. There was a reviewe on tire rack from an engineer guy that stated that they have a very low rolling resistance.

I recently put Ryken Raptor's on two of my cars. They are made by Michelin. So far so good, but I haven't had them on long enough to see how they last.

Just put a set of Firestone Affinity touring tires on my 2002 S60 2.4t since they had a buy 3 get 4th tire free. Put about 1000 miles on them in 3 weeks and love them. Quiet, smooth, and great fuel economy. Highway mileage has gone from 28 mpg to 32 mpg.

Thanks for all the replies! I ended up going with Kumho Ecowing KH30's. They handle the raod WAYYYY beter than the Michelin MXV4 Energy Plus's that were on it and at $120 it was a good price. They also claim better mpg. i will be the judge of that after a few months. Plus I've owned Kumhos before and have been happy with them.

I was going to say Kuhmo's. I have them on my Volvo now and I really like them. They are about the best tire you can get, in my opinion, without dropping 200 bucks or more on a tire.

Update. I have about 5000 miles on these tires. I'm happy overall but I have seen absolutely NO better mpg's like they claim for what it's worth.
