I went to move my car on my driveway and the button on the auto shifter that you push in cracked. I struggled to get the car to shift into either reverse or Park for 15 min. There is still a piece of the button in the shift **** and I think that was the issue of only engaging neutral and drive. I'm trying to find a part number for this, or guide to what needs replacing. I was told to call Erie VoVo to get an entire unit because apparently the **** alone is a PITA to remove and replace.

 

I read up on removing the **** and got it off, the problem is I also removed the piece that the button pulls up on through the shaft. I am screwed?

 

I got mine back today for the same problem. I was at work when mine broke. I have a 04 s60 2.5t with 130000 miles. The dealer told me $375 to replace ****. I took it to acr motorsports and they charged me $187 and that included a full synthetic oil change and new tail light bulbs. If you live in Minnesota I would reccomend them they work cheap and do quality work. They specialize in performance rally race cars.
