'Battery power low' alert questions..
I have a 2006 S60 FWD. About a mth ago while sitting in the car for about 15-20 min with the a/c on it (the a/c) suddenly stopped and i saw the 'Battery power low' alert show on my dash. I hooked up my NOCO Genius Boost GB30 for about 40min (did not not start the engine just left it hooked up) and then the engine started fine AFTER i took it off. I assume it would've started anyway cause the NOCO is for 'boosting' not charging (or am i wrong...?) The main problem is i also have a Garmin Sat Nav and it says 'Battery power low' when it comes on from starting the engine yet at the same time the car/dash is not giving me any alert.. I guess i should just get a new battery to avoid getting caught with no power while on the road. (thinking ahead) Will that mess up any of the codes? Hmm...

Did you put a volt meter on your battery when the warning light came on? Not sure if your model year has a battery monitor sensor that may need a reset but the warning is saying your battery appeared to be discharged. (at 80% charge a battery will be around 12.6V, if you are reading a lower value (ie 12.2V etc) then you either need a new battery, have a parasitic current drain or a charging system issue. In some Volvo models, there was a TSB for a software update to the satellite radio to fix a battery drain problem, but I don't think that applies to your year/model.
And disconnecting a battery will not erase any important codes - if it did people would do that to get their check engine lights off.
