Best Tires for a 2004 Volvo S60 with sports pkg-235/45-17
Hi, people I have 2004 Volvo S60 2.5T AWD with sports pkg. I got the 17" rims, Size-235/45-17.
I am looking at replacing them with good tires, not the Pirelli p4 seasons that are on them right now. The Tiresdont last, are noisy and cant handle light snow at all, and plus I read many reviews about these tires wich are negitive. I am looking at this one tire, and was thinking what you guys thought about the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S M+S ?
Any sugesstions on tires would greatly be apperciated,
Thank-You

I think just about anyone who owns an S60 can say that the Pirelli p4s totally SUCK. I bought my S60 used in Febuary and I've barely been able to stay on the road even with AWD. I don't drive like a fool either, they just are a bad tire. I was going to invest in some studded hakkapelittas before next winter, but I don't even know if I want the Pirellis for summer...The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S are rated pretty high, but another tire I would consider is Bridgestone Potenza RE960 AS Pole Position. They run about $30 cheaper per tire, and are rated a little bit higher. When I refer to "rated" I mean consumer rated on tirerack.com. Just floating my opinion along.

Hey, Mate (AlaskaS60)
I bought my 2004 S60 in Feburary, so I guess we bought our cars in the same time. Our cars almostlook the same too. Mines a Black/Black. I hardlydrove my car in the winter time because I didn't want to get it dirty with salt, and all that other winter dirt. AlaskaS60 you are right, the P4's are bad tires, they don't give you good grip. I took a look at the Bridgestone Potenza RE960 AS Pole Position, they look like excellent tires. I also looked at this other tire as well, the Fuzion HRI, and ZRI, they are made by Bridgestone, and are at the fraction of the price. I want good tires, that will atleast last 80,000km-100,000km. I amcurrently getting the 48,000km service and Radiator flush done on my car which is costing me $700. I don't want $1000+ tiresgoing bald in 50,000km. I don't drive rough.

Hi Guys, I'm from the UK. I have a 2006 S60 2.5T with Pirelli P6000 tyres and I'm lucky to still be alive. She's ok on a dry level straight road but as soon as i try to change lanes or on a smaller a road she has a mind of her own. she's going into my dealership in 3 weeks for them to have a look at. I think they owe me new tyres as they were on there from new.[:@]

I have 3 S60's. Yes, 3.
One the '01, I have Michelin Hydroedge. I really like these tires. On the '02, I have Hankook Ventus HRII's. They are utter crap. Stay away from this product. On the '04, I have Toyos, I forget what model. I like these tires, too, but I have to give the edge to the Michelins.
I'm considering replacing the tires on the '02 T5. I'm pricing Michelins. They are sticky, quiet and smooth. They seem to wear well with agressive driving, too.
I hope this helps.

i was looking into the hydroedge as well they look like they would do the job for the amount of snow i get in new york, ZRI is a good tire as well i have them on my car now but they arent rated for winter driving and when it rains they dont have much traction at all so i can only immagine what they would be like in the snow. just a heads up

I got the fuzions for my old focus and the ride was horrible. Right now I haveHankook VentusH405 HRII tires on my 02 S60 2.4twhich held the road pretty well and wore well even with aggressive driving but seem to have crappy sidewalls, So I myself am looking for a couple to replace the front with the sidewall bubbles. they havent blown up and its been awhile since I noticed the problem...bad me I know, think they will get replaced today.

i have no need for winter tires as i drive a jeep in the winter time.. however i have the Fuzion HRI on mine.. i love these tires.. cheap handle amazing they grip on dry as well as absolutely perfect wet handeling.. a tiny noisy with the windows down but nothing too bad. and they seem to be wearing vey good as well have about 10,000 miles on them and i cant tell that they have lost any tread at all..
