Blown Low Beam/2 in 2 days??

I'm having my first issue with my 04 s60 awd.
Two days ago, I had the Low Beam failure light come on so I looked
and sure enough the drivers side was out.
I took the old bulb out and carefully replaced the bulb without
touching the glass on the new bulb.
Yesterday my wife called and said the indicator light was on
again, and when she got home the same bulb was blown again?
Any ideas on what to look for and how to test would be great
before I replace the bulb again.
Thanks in advance, Frank

evening board,
I'm a newbie and I just picked up a '06 s60 2.5T for valentine's day
...and I have the same exact issue, except mine is the passenger side. When I went to investigate, the connection for the bulbs is mangled and broken...there's exposed wires to the side that is broken...i found this out after I took it back to the dealer that sold me the car...they had the light working for all of 30 minutes, then it went back out. I originally thought it was just another bad bulb, till i pulled it out and 1/2 the connection was broken and i saw exposed wires and whatnot....how do i correct this...and more importantly, how much will this correct cost? is Volvo the only ones that can fix this? I would eventually like to change these lights to HID...how will this affect that change?
Thanks for your response!

Ok, I found that the part that clips on to the bulb was stretched out.
When I went to remove the cover to inspect the bulb, the bulb came on.
I took the plastic thing that has the wire connectors built into it and, using needle nose pliers, I crimped both connectors just a little.
This time when I reinstalled it it had a very tight feel to it and the bulb came on.
I will reinstall the original bulb latter in the day when it is warmer and see if that one works as well.
Thanks for all the help.
Frank
