The boost pressure solenoid on my 2001 S60 is making weird noise lately. The noise doesn't stop until like 10 seconds after the engine is shut down. Would this noise mean that the solenoid is broken? Was thinking maybe there are some problems with wiring of it. I am not sure how serious of a problem this is and what the consequences might be of not replacing it.
Would appreciate your advice!

Solenoid, hmm... are you talking about the one by the airbox with hoses or near the turbo itself?

 

Yes, the one by the air box

 

It may need a new one, but you should scan it.
