Default Brake Pedal Oddity

I have noticed recently that the brake pedal on my '13 S60 acts differently. After being parked overnight, when I place my foot on the brake pedal in preparation to push the start button, the pedal is quite hard. I have to exert quite a bit of pressure even to get the pedal to go in enough to allow me to start the car. Of course once the engine starts the pedal feels quite normal and the brakes work fine while driving.

In the XC60, and every other car I have ever driven, the pedal does not get stiff like this overnight. The car is fully functional, just a different feel to the pedal on the first start of the day. I suppose I can get this looked at with the first oil change.

JerrySC,
The same thing happens with my S60. Only car I've experienced it with. I've assumed it's the way it's designed.

I have the same issue with my car s80 2007. Does it mean I have a leakage in brake system?
