The Volvo is a car brand that knows a thing or two about safety. And, since you've got all that safety, you might as well make sure that it continues to be a safe driver for the long haul. That's why you should make sure to replace your Volvo S60 brakes & brake pads from AutoAnything regularly.

Volvo pads create a lot of dust. I use Akebono Euro ceramic pads on my cars. Do a great job of stopping you and NO DUST!

Another vote for Akebono ceramic pads! Mine have about 50k miles on them and no dust since I put them on. FCPgroton.com has great prices.

Brembo or zimmerman for rotor is hard to beat. I love hawk pads. quiet, not much dust. I have had 3 sets of Volvo pads break off one of the riveted spring tensions causing a rattle and jiggling sound while driving . Has anyone else found ceramic pads chewing through rotors extra quick?

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I'm doing the brakes on my C30 T5 and not sure which brand of rotors and pads to use. Do the Akebono pads eat rotors? I'm thinking of getting them with the Zimmerman rotors. Funny thing is the front pads and rotors don't need to be replaced but the rears do?? Everything is working correctly. No caliper bind or parking brake drag. Just needs rears. All of the vehicles I've owned go through 2 sets of fronts before the rears need doing. Strange, but then I've never owned a Volvo before.

same here, my rears are almost gone and the rotors are shot! i had no idea because the front are only through one set! lol but that does give me confidence that the rear brakes are working effectively!
zimmerman rotors and volvo OE pads if you dont mind alittle dust (i wash my car every other day so it never builds up)

the ceramics are great but they are prone to rotor wear, squeaking, and lov performance when cold.

About 80% of your braking is accomplished through the front. Replacement interval depends on how you use 'em. 2:1 replacement ratio is about right. You don't have to replace the rotors if they're still within spec and have no other issues. Use 'em up.
