Default Camshaft Position Sensor broken cap???

Hi,

I have a 2003 Volvo S60 T5 2.3L. Today I tried to change the Camshaft Position Sensor but when I tried to I broke the cover on wich the sensor connect to.

The problem is that I can't find on the web the name of that part. I will attach some pics, if someone can help me that would be great!

Thanks a lot!

Default sensor housing

I think its listed in the ignition group- listed as a "housing" . Unless updated it's part # 30637087

I just replace the Camshaft Position Sensor and still got the same problem, car is long to start and pull code P0340.

Can it be the Crankshaft sensor now?

First time this happen was 4 days ago, pull code P0340 and P0016, now P0016 seems to be gone.

I also tried with the old Camshaft Sensor, got code P0340 but not P0016. Haven't drive the car, just let it run in my garage.

Help would be greatly appreciated

Default sensor housing

So was the part no. given the correct one. I also broke mine when I overtightened it so need to order one. Read somewhere that the hard starts could be caused by metal shavings covering the crankshaft position sensor. Try cleaning that sensor and let us know.

The number part was good, if you have a 2002-, if you have a 2001 T5 it's not the same.

I order a crankshaft sensor today, will received it tomorrow. I removed the old one a couple of minute ago, I put the multimeter on the two pins, I have a reading of 122 ohms, I don't know if that value tell the part is defect or not? Someone know?

update: I check the voltage on the crankshaft sensor plug while my girlfriend was cranking, I got 2.5V on each of the two plugs, I don't know if that is normal.

I also check in the Vadis, the resistance of the crankshaft sensor between the 2 connectors should be between 108.5-142.5 Ω at 20°C. I have 122 Ω.

Not sure if my new crankshaft sensor will correct my problem. I don't know where to look now

i had code p0016 too and replaced both crankshaft and camshaft sensors
according to the shop's suggestion.
never had starting problems as i replaced it right away but it was a matter of time i guess.
the crankshaft job cost me a lot as it was harder to get too but if you can it yourself you shouldnt spend more than what you pay on the parts so it's worth to try.

good luck!

You might consider changing the camshaft position solenoid. It can cause similar conditions. It takes about 10-15 minutes to change.

Default Name please

Does anyone know the name of that metal piece that spins that sits behind the camshaft pos sensor housing? Mines chipped and I think that's what keeping my car from continually running when started. Volvo s60 2003. If it's easily replaced I rather fix it myself.

Does anyone know if replacing the aperture is as easy as it looks? Is it just a unscrew it and screw a new one in situation r is there more to it?

That’s it - one bolt, only fits one way
