Default Center Console Drink Holder Exchange???

I recently bought a 2001 S60 T for my wife.

Went to the local dealer and bought a console cup-holder to replace a broken cover hinge.

How do I get to or access the attachment points to install the new unit?

Do the sides or top of the console "pop off" and how do I do this?

I have gently pried on most of the console and shifter panels but all seem pretty solid. [sm=smiley25.gif]

Can anyone enlighten me as to HOW to get into the console and replace this unit without spending money ($178 quoted) at the dealership?

Thanks,
John

You have to remove the cover by the shifter and remove the screws for the console. Then remove the E-brake cover. I believe it slides straight up. Then remove everything from in the console under the lid. Remove the cover in the bottom. Then it should be loose. BUT there is a plug in the back of the console that needs to be unplugged. It is a pain in the A** to get to it. You have to get it loose from the console then unplug it.
