Default climate control issue

Hey, I've searched the site for my climate control issue, and found that the issue (heat works sometimes then stops) can be related to the resistor/thermometer in the little vent by the climate controls.. How can I get to this to try to clean/replace it? Does the left/right side panel come off first?

- Thanks

Are the hoses under the hood going to the heater core hot?

So my cruise control works for the first couple seconds then shuts off.. I've heard of vacuum lines being clogged that may cause this, but I'm not really sure where to look under the hood? Can someone point me in the right direction.. thx!

btw the s60 t5 is the best highway car I've driven so far

The S60 does not use vacuum lines for the cruise control. It is fully done with electronics.
