Default Cluster Issues

Hello all,

I have a 2002 S60 T5. I've not had many problems with it until recently... the cluster goes crazy every now and then (all lights come on, speedo and tach stop working, service messages.) Whenever it happens, I bang on the dash or on the cluster itself and it corrects itself. I removed the cluster from the vehicle and tried to look for a short, but no go. I even tugged on the connector while the vehicle was on and connected to the cluster, but nothing! Could the cluster itself be bad (i.e. short inside of it?) Also, the SERVICE SRS URGENT message now comes on everytime... I think it latched during the first time it went haywire, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the airbag. Anyone know how I can reset this message without taking it to the dealer and getting charged $5,000,000?

Yes, I unplugged the cluster without disconnecting the main vehicle battery. I haven't paid attention to other electrical items with cluster cuts out... I'll check the next time it happens... which will be the next time I drive it... happening very often now!
