Default Cold weather and wierd symtoms

The temperature in my area has dropped recently and my '02 S60 t5 is acting up a bit. These past two mornings I would not get a temperature indication and nothing electrical
would work on my right front door. The door will not unlock, the lock button doesn't do anything and the window will not lower. It doesn't matter if I use the driver door controls
either. I will let my engine warm up until the first notch and then start my trip. About two miles down the road the temp indicator and door will start working normally. By that
time the indicator shows low 40's F and the engine temp is at about four notches. The car doesn't do this at any other start during the day. Any idea what may be causing this?
Any suggestions would help before I spend hours digging through schematics!

Thanks!

The passenger door module might be on its way out.

Is it just a coincidence that the outside temp indicator just shows F until it's warm, or it doesn't show anything under 40F by design?

The temp sensor is in the passenger side mirror so when the passenger side door is dead so is the temp sensor.

I own a '02 S60 AWD and it's been doing exactly the same thing. I get the dashes in the temp. display, the front passenger door lock, mirror, and window don't work. These thingsmay start working after the car has been running a while.

So Tech...
I guess the only thing to do is to replace the passenger side door module even though I can't control it on the driver's side as well? Is this an expensive thing to do?

BTW...
This is my first post on the site. I've been on it for a few months, but haven't posted until now.

I bought the S60 AWD from my brother (kind of a hand me down).

Yes it is pretty expensive because it is a computer. It also needs to have software downloaded into the car to make it work.

Thanks for the info! I guess I will just let it be, since it's just a slight inconvenience. I am curious though; would this affect the operation of the alarm if the passenger side door is opened/forced open on a cold night?

I think it might. But the best way to tell would be to test it. One time when you are in a really safe place leave the window open and let the car sit for a while with the alarm activated. Then reach in and try to quick open the door and see if the alarm goes off.

Also when everything else doesn't work does the interior lights work from that door? If the main ones don't check and see if the footwell one does when the door is opened. If the lights work the alarm will still work.
