communication error
I have been having a problem and the very reputable shop working on the car is telling me I have to spend a lot of money and the repair MIGHT fix the problem. It began with the "anti-skid service required" light coming on and going into limp home mode. after reading numbers "communication error codes" they replaced the BCM (over $1000). a month later, with the same message, all guages except the gas guage stopped working intermittently and at one point the car wouldn't start (similar to a bad key or antenna ring problem). they replaced the BCM as faulty(no charge), but less than 2 weeks later, same thing is happening. now they want to replace the CEM for over $1000. With all of this OBD stuff, isn't is supposed to be easier and cheaper to diagnose these cars? Any suggestions?
