Hi,
My car just appear a engine light on. I use a can obd2 scan tool, it appear a p1670 code, I search on the internet the code translate to " Immobilizer Control Module Communication Error/Code Error". Is this important?
I didn't experinese any no start yet, if I drive the car without repair, will the engine have chance to no repsone while I'm driving the car? If the car need to be repair, what part do I need to repair? I'm "car blind", can someone help me out here plz.

The Immbblizer only works on start up.
I wouldn't worry about it till you have a no start problem.

It could be the key,Antenna ring, or immoblizer.

 

Thanks. I try to clear the light on the dash, I use the Can obd2 scan tool attempt to erase it. however I still can't clear the light on my dash, although the scan tool show no more DTC or the code. Does anyone know how to clear the light on the dash?

 

If the code is gone then the light should turn off.

Are you sure it isn't the SERVICE LIGHT?

 

Yeah, I thought I should turn off after I erase however the light still on. Is not the service light, because service light label service, where as the engine light just have a light bulb logo with a sign of ! . Is unusual that I can't turn off. And my car drive normal, nothing wrong with it.

That light might be for something else.

 

Im getting this same code on a 2000 S70. The light goes off after a minute or two of driving. Got the code checked (P1670) and erased. but had troubles starting the car after the code was erased. sounded like the car wasnt getting any gas. 30 seconds later of trying to start it, it fired up and the code came back. The antenna wont go down. is this related to immobilizer? i thought it was just the teeth broken on the antenna. the car doesnt seem to be running poorly except for slight trans stalling (could be fluid level i need to check).
