Default control arm install technique

I'm interested in knowing how do mechanics install control arms. The only technique I could find is using a ratchet strap to bend the arm low enough to engage ball joint to spindle. In my opinion this is "hillbilly style" and wonder if this way will damage the bushings. I actually have done it this way but a short time after have a knocking going on now(125,ooomiles). Maybe a old bushing would be ruined but a new one could take the pressure? So I guess the question is ...how do mechanics install control arms?

Pry it down with a prybar. Sometimes I need to use a ratchet strap as mentioned.

Did you use aftermarket arms?

I reused the old arm as I was repairing something else(reluctor ring I think). So I guess this is the proper way to do it?

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you replaced them and they failed again.

Prying the arm down is the way shown in VIDA.
