Default Debating T5 purchase

Hello,

I saw a gorgeous T5 thats for sale in my area, a 2005 with 89k miles. It's a shiftable automatic. If I were to purchase it it would become my daily driver, and I put roughly 27k miles yearly on my car. The only reason I am hesitating is my understanding that the transmissions on these can be something of a problem. Are there any signs I can look for that would be a red flag, or am I overthinking it? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Basically, examine ATF level and condition (If possible). When considering the purchase of any used auto it is advised to have it inspected by a reputable mechanic.

the trans fluid can be brown on these cars, however it dose not mean its bad. if you drive a lot of city itll get dark but be fine.
if it smells gross its seen its wear. if not, more like crayons then its probably ok. but get 2 car reports on it, carfax being most common. the other thing is if its priced well or not.
