Did I get scammed (Fram box & Mann filter)
I bought a 6-pack of Fram filters on ebay for about $45 shipped and when I took it out of the box and looked more critically at one I noticed it was stamped Mann and not Fram. By this time it was too late, i.e. I had the oil drained and new filter fingerprinted from getting it ready for installation.
Needless to say, it looked more robust from what I took out of the car. This was my first oil change since I got the car so I don't know what was put in before.

I think the only scam was advertising one product and supplying another. I can't find anything bad about MANN. I have never used them tho, so I can't provide any personal experience feedback. $45 shipped for 6 filters isn't too bad.

I read the auction a bit more in detail, "Currently made for Fram by Mann & Hummel and come directly from the factory."
I'll be honest, I have not researched the various OEM and aftermarket market to see who make what for who, but is this true? Does Mann make Fram However, I like to say I am somewhat knowledgeable about vehicles and I do not feel that Fram is a terrible filter.
Either way, it sounds like I came out ok.

Anyone knowledgeable about vehicles will tell you that fram is just about the worst mass market filter you can get
Either way, it sounds like I came out ok.
