Default Difference between STC in Volvo S60 and other Cars

I recently bought a 2005 S60 2.5T FWD and it has STC, Stability Traction Control.

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between STC on a Volvo, and Traction and/or Stability Control that is an option in American or Japanese cars?

In some American and Japanese cars, these features were two separate options, Traction Control and Stability Control.

Do I have both of these? I was given the impression by the car dealership that I do.

Clarification would be appreciated.

I think it means both Traction Control and Stability Control in Volvo. I know in winter the wheel won't spin in snow when accelerating. And on the road, it brakes some of the wheels and reduces throttle when the car is about to slide sideways.
