I just replaced both rear shocks and shock mounts today. While tightening the top nut, I noticed the nut is spinning the metal plate/washer on the shock mount. Is it normal or did I tear the rubber from the metal part?

 

It happened to me too, but hasn't seem to affect anything. Is still solid and tight 10K miles later.

 

Cool. Car is 100% better with new shocks. I think the old mounts were still good, but what the heck, it was easy to do.
