Someone said I could read the ODB code in my 2001 S60 T5 by going to key position II and holding the trip reset for a few seconds. I did that an the number 44 came into the display. All the codes I can find are x-x-x or P0xx etc.

How does 44 map to those? Is there a different type of code list?

That isn't a code and you cannot read them with that method.

 

Okay, is there a way to read the codes without an ODBII Tool?

 

You need a scan tool of some kind. Aftermarket, OEM or OEM clone.

I just ordered one off ebay.

 

Put the code reader on the Volvo and it indicates the Cam Shaft Sensor is the problem.
