Default doorlock goofiness, 2002 S60

My electrick doorlocks or buttons acts funny in the way that they all lock all right, but fails to open. When I push the button for opening, on either side, I hear a click in all 4 doors, but the lockpins does not pop up, and all doors remain closed. The trunk lid button does not work either.

However, all locks operates as they should when I use the remote control.

Any ideas?

yes, I did that when I had my car at 70.000 miles service on monday. The local Volvo dealer suggested that it could be a malfunctioning doorlock unit, either on front drivers side or on rear passenger side. However, they had to go for try and fail method by replacing one unit after another, startingat the rear passenger side. They will charge me 400 bucks for the whole ordeal.

Arethe codes not precise enough to tell exactly where the malfunctioning unit is?

How can it possibly be a malfunctioning doorlock unit that creates such a weird fault? I mean, the doorlock units are nothing else buta mechanic assembly activated by a simple solenoid or an actuator that reacts on a signal from a central steering unit, right?

And then, when the locks closes and opens as they should when I use the remote, my first thought is to check the steering unit, whatever or wherever that is.

After searching around a bit, I have seen a couple of treads describing problems with the Driver Door Module (DDM). Could it be that it is the DDM that creates my problems too?

I saw another tread saying that there was an extended warranty for the DDM. If so, is it still valid for my 2002 model?

The DDM could be a cause as well.
But there will be codes from it.
