I have a 2012 T6 R-Design S60, and as of 4 pm yesterday, my driver door handle stopped opening the door from the outside, and will only open the door from inside! So I have to go to the passenger door when getting in my car, open the driver door from the inside, then walk around and get in.

Is this a common issue to all of a sudden happen in my year and make? Also, what is the issue that needs to be fixed with the outside handle? And is it an easy fix I guess is my question.

Did you recently have your door lock recall performed?

 

would that fix my outer door handle issue? What exactly does that fix? And no I haven't yet...

 

The recall is to replace all four door latches. I askes because the outer handle is removed to do the recall, so maybe something broke during assembly.

The good news is if it hasn't been done, this can be repaired for no or very minimal labor while performing the recall.

 

Having the Door Latch recall done tomorrow, so I'll keep you posted as to what the issue was.
