yesterday the passenger door overextended and door catch was broken.

also, the door doesn close properly.

do u think i can just bend the tabs holding the door hinge to get the door closing properly and get a body shop to replace the door catch??

These hinges are pretty stout. Most likely the door jamb is bent some. You can try straightening the hinges, but in the end, I beleive you will end up at an auto body.

 

Maybe just remove the door catch all together.

i thought about removing the door catch but the door still wouldn shut properly cause the tab which the hinge is mounted on is bent

i took it to some body shops and got estimates ranging from 200 to 765 which was weird....
