Early S60R torque limiter question
I apologize if this has been asked here before. I searched and didn't come up with anything. From what I understand, the 04-05 R's with the 5speed geartronic have torque limited to ~270 in 1st and 2nd gears. When one flash tunes one of these said R's, is the torque limiter removed? Does removing the torque limiter pose any high risk of damaging the drivetrain? I'm kind of assuming the limiter was there for a reason, but I'm not certain. Would love to know as I'm hoping to flash my car next year.

Some tunes can remove the TQ limiter, others leave it in place. Do some research to make sure you're getting exactly what you're after.
Though, by the time you'll me ready for your tune ARD should have the ME7 tunes ready. If so they'll have that option available. ARDideas.com
My SR is a 6M so I don't have any first hand experience with TQ limiting.
Lots of guys on SS have deleted the limiting and have no ill effects.
