rev limiter?

rev limiter?
is there a rev limiter in my 1998 v70 t5?
this morning i was taking off after a stoplight onto a freeway and pretty heavily flooring it and went into like 3rd gear or so and accelerating heavily when suddenly my engine seemed to hickup. i immedeatly let off the gas slightly and shifted to 4rth and everything seemed fine, and this is the first time i have experienced anything like that, uppon reflection in the following seconds i thought that i may have encroached on the redline in my fury of acceleration and that i may have hit a rev limiter in my lazy shifting from 3rd to 4th (my old honda never moved that tach quite as quick, and the needle didn't accelerate but move at a constant velocity, so i could see it happening).
please tell me there is a rev limiter :-/
