Default ECU upgrad

what is the difference between the IPD's soft loader upgrade and the ECU upgrade that IPD does when you send your ECU in to them? is it the same just a different way to do it, or is there performance differences? or is there some where some one suggests i should go other than IPD. i have shopped at IPD many times and trust there judgment. i just got rid of my 88 740 for a 03 S60 2.4L love the car would like to go faster though

thanks,
TED

Ton of info on their site, but with the softloader, they send you an OBD II plug that hooks-up to your laptop. You download ECU info and e-mail it to them. They e-mail reply with a tune for your car, and you hook-up your laptop to the OBD II again. The benefit of this as opposed to removing and sending them your ECU, is you can return the softloader to stock if need be (dealer repairs), then back to the tuned stage.

If something happens to the ECU you sent them, your screwed. I really don't know what the horsepower diff is between the two. I would assume the softloader is close in hp to other softloader tunes.

I went with Viva and love it so far, no problems...
