This might sound selfish, but I hope someone else had this problem because nobody so far could help me.
This is the second time in seven years when it happened. There is a cracking noise (sounds like shorted wires) coming from the left side of the board (where the computer plug is) and the warning window goes crazy. I get left door open while driving, or air bags service, even brake failure. A couple of times, everything on the board went off.

Anything like this happened to anybody? Dealer says they cannot find anything wrong, unless they see it happen. By the time I went to the dealer, it didn't do it anymore. This is for a 2004 S60 2.5T

Have you checked the grounds?

 

Sounds like the DIM(instrument cluster) is beginning to fail. Apparently higher failure rate in '03 and '04.

Do a search on DIM failures.
