Electrical Question
I have posted several times before about a recurring electrical issue with my car (2003 S60 2.4T). If it is not started daily I will find it with a dead battery. I have replaced both headlight sockets due to them getting hot and corroding. It has been suggested to me that during the period that the headlight wasn't completely insulated that the ECM could have actually been damaged through the uninsulated current and this is likely the source of the draw on the battery. Can anyone speak to the plausibility or likelihood of this? Thanks for your help, hopefully this is the last time I'll have to post on the matter.
Replying to an electrical problem without seeing the vehicle physically is difficult. I am not going to say it is not possible, but considering the among of wiring and items tied into the vehicle it could easily be something else. This would be a good good time to bust out your multi meter and start looking for this offending draw. Just tedious work looking for that needle. I have a different model, but my standard draw is 0.52 ma. Good luck.
