Default Electronic Suspension?

Hey Hey,

I'm new to this forum, bought my first Volvo (2004 S60 2.5T) last weekend and I'm compiling a list of what it might need.

How do I know what type of shocks/struts my car needs? I'm hoping it doesnt have the electronic suspension but I'm not sure how to find out. I tried to do a search but couldn't find my answer.

Only 2 things I dislike so far about this car...Turning radius/tire rub for the 17" wheels. And the way the suspension feels which is a little harsh. I want to get all new shocks in the near future to soften the ride a little but can't price anything out unless I know my suspension type.

Thanks,
Chris

The suspension feels harsh because the shocks are worn out. They don't bounce yet, but are harsh on bumps, especially for the first few miles in the morning. Go with Monroe, it's the only non sport aftermarket option and those who put them said the ride was perfect and they are pretty durable. I think it's less than 400$ for four corners (parts only).

Thanks! I always liked monroes product so I'll be happy with them. I'm assuming I need the shocks without electronic suspension? Was the R model the only one with that setup?

It don't know about the R models, but regular models is all mechanical.

It would be nice to have a feedback if you decide to go with Monroe, I'm planning it as well.

If you don't have buttons for Sport, Comfort and Advanced, you don't have 4C suspension

Default Do I have electronic suspension?

I'm new and not sure this is the right place to post this question. I have a 2006 S60 2.5T. Is there a website or other way of finding out whether my car has electronic suspension. I've heard that you can look up the VIN and find out.

If it isn't an R, no you don't. And I'm not even sure if it was offered on non-R models.
