Default Engine needs service, limp mode

Hello, everyone!
Recently bought an 03 s60 D5, with 5 speed manual, 400k km. The car just got serviced - new oil, and all the filters. Timing belt and pulleys have around 30k more until the next change. A few days ago I was passing a semi truck on the highway and when I reached around 125-130 km/h the computer showed a warning message that the engine needs service, and after the message the car went into a limp mode for the rest od the way. At my destination I turned the car off and on again, and the mesaage was gone and the car was no longer in limp mode. Hasn't happened since, anyone have any ideas of why it could have happened?

The first step would be to scan the car with a compatible scan tool to look for any stored codes. VIDA stores a timeline of when codes appear, very helpful sometimes.
