Just had an issue with our 2005 S60.....came out of the store (car had been sitting approx 15 min)...went to start all ok but when key went to start position....nothing but error message " start prevented, try again"...
several attempts failed but after approx 15 min it started fine

any help with what could have caused condition would be appreciated.

 

Take it to the dealer, what ever it is.

It should still be under warranty.

 

The car wasn't reading the key maybe bad antenna ring(Light around ignition switch)
