Error Message "emission System Service Required"
I have just installed new exaust system into my 2001 volvo v70 t5 and the catalysator was removed and in its place was put resonator and the lambda song was installen on it. also I have put new tail pipe. Everything sort of would be ok but the computer started showing "emision system service required". And the car does not go as it used to go. What could be the problem and how could i solve it. Thanks.
I have just returned from the Volvo and have the code which is responsible for this message. So, here is the code:
ECM-4801 Three-way catalytic converter (TWC) efficiency, bank 1;.;Permanent fault.
What should be my next move to solve this problem. Thank you.

Make sure the O2 sensors are working properly.
If they are fine then you might need to install a Performance High flow Cat Converter.

Thank you for your prompt reply.
I have few more questions to you:
What could be the price for Performance High flow cat. conv.?
Is there a possibility to solve this problem with programmable chip?
Thank you once more

This is for race converters.
An ECM upgrade might help but not 100% sure.

Well i've just fixed my error message related to problem mentioned above.
After i have tried probably five different things that may have worked:
1. Take the second sensor outside the exaust system (not disconnect it but simply create a box with fresh air and install it) works on audi, but not on volvo
2. Install a device that fakes the second sensor. But the problem is that it fakes it all the time and sometimes do not fit into the norms and the error message appears.
3. tried to instal a thermo relay which would turn on this device when the first sensor starts working still no luck.
And finally i found a solution: I installed new catalysator and suddenly the problem disapeared.:-)
So as you see don't mess with catalytic converter because you will face problems.

I have installed the stock one, because in Lithuania it would be hard to get race one and it would be too expensive to me, but I found a stock catalytic converter for 230$. Not too expensive.
