Default Even Volvo dealer techs can't answer this?!

First off, this is for a 2001 s60 2.4t auto. Changed my alternator yesterday, took about and hour no big deal right? wrong! Stupid me didn't look at the serpentine belt routing thinking "no neeed, it's got to be in the owners manual, or at least on a sticker somewhere on the car", wrong. I have been searching since 5:00pm yesterday and nothing! I even called the dealer and talked to two different techs who said that information isn't even available to them so they draw a diagram before removing it! This seems crazy to me.

Can anyone please post a diagram of the serpentine belt routing so I can finish this car up?

Volvo really dropped the ball on this one.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard.

I am not a Volvo tech but I can read VADIS and there are several serpentine belt routing pictures on there.

I hope this helps:

thanks guys, got the belt on! Now the problem is that when the car died the sunroof was in the 1st open position (open 90% to reduce wind noise), and the hack mechanic that we brought the car to said the switch was bad, but he "manually closed" the sunroof. Now that I got the switch (not broken) working by using the key to unlock the car, it will only open about 2", I assume because computer thinks the sunroof is still in open position 1 so it only moves as far as it thinks full open is. Also when I press the close position it will close, go past close to pop up the glass, then returns to the 2" open position! I really hope you can help me because I don;t want to deal with this POS mechanic that screwed it up in the first place.

Thanks again!

Can you point me in the right direction to find a "how to", or a service manual or something maybe? I really want to do this myself vs. taking it back to that hack.

A good tool to search for to try to get is a program called VADIS. Usually on e-bay. Thats Volvo's program.

Once you get it apart leave the mirror connected. Drop motor out leaving the glass in the full closed position.

Then move the switch till it stops. Then make sure when you press it again it will go into the tilt position. Then bring it back down and reinstall the motor.
