Default Excess Gas consumption

Hello guys, I'm new here. I've just purchased my first Volvo. A 2002 volvo s60 2.4 non-turbo with an automatic gearbox. Car consumes a lot of gat. I currently get maximum of 90 miles with half tank in city driving. The car has no check engine, Scanned and found no error code. I've changed the Airflow meter, map sensors, O2 sensors, fuel pressure is fine, injector system is fine. Car idles at 8,500. I am beginning to think this is an issue with the ECU. Any input will be appreciated.

I'm sure you mean 850 RPM - 8500 is past the red line!

Do you have a OBD2 reader that can display realtime data to monitor fuel trim? I suppose you can remove the ECU, clean the connectors with electronics cleaner etc and reinstall but ECUs are not a common problem area and will throw codes like comms errors when they act up. Any other symptoms like long cranking at start, black/sooty plugs? Does the transmission feel locked up or do you hear/feel any slippage? Does the transmission fluid smell burnt and is it reddish-brown or black? Are you hearing it shift through all 4/5 gears?

Hi, I have an Obd2 device, what realt time data should I look out for and what values should I expect. No long crank. Car works fine. Surprisingly when I have the gear in Neutral it locks the wheels, Is that normal? As my previous cars don't lock the wheels in Neutral. When I say lock, I mean the wheels can't rotate like you put the gear selector in Park. There's little spot on the exhaust tailpipe. Gear does not slip. Scanned for codes but no error codes.

if the car is in neutral and you can't spin the wheels, sounds like you have some brake drag. try jacking up the nose of the car (engine off, both front tires off the ground, tranny in neutral, rear wheels block) and see how hard it is to turn the front tires by hand. Your differential/axles will turn so it won't be like the rear wheels which can easily free wheel but you should be able to turn the tires by hand. after that, drop the nose and check if the rear wheels can easily spin.
