Default Lost key fob please help!

My daughter is heading off to college soon and lost her key FOB somewhere. Can I get a replacement on Amazon? The FCC ID KR55WK49266. Will the dealer program it? Does anyone know how much they cost at the dealer? I would like to have the blade cut just in case of any emergency. Car is a 2013 Volvo S60. thank you

dealer programming is required. Check out Tasca parts if you'd like to price out getting a genuine Volvo part specific to your model. Its not cheap :-( I had a fob fail on my VW CC and I think it ran to $350 or so (250 for the part 100 for labor).

I've been down this road before. Trust me here, don't purchase a used key on eBay/Amazon or elsewhere and hope to get your dealership to program it to your daughter's XC60. They won't do it because it's a security/theft issue and against their policy. Think about it for a minute. What better way for someone to steal a car than to call the dealership and say they''ve lost the one and only key, but have a used one that needs to be programmed. Unless something has changed with Volvo policy, they won't program used keys to your car. Once the key is programmed to the car, the dealership will register that serial number which prevents it from ever being programmed to another car. Are they independents (or hackers) that could get around this? Probably, but why risk it? This is your daughter. Do the best thing for her and her protection. Purchase a new Volvo key fob (and backup if you can afford it) and have the dealership program it.

Oh and empathize with you on the college thing. My daughter is entering college next year and she will also be driving the XC60.

to note, Tasca is a Volvo dealer selling only new genuine Volvo parts via mail order. Or if you live close to Rhode Island, you can have them do the install :-)
