Default Fan keeping running after switching

Good Day
I am in Zimbabwe. I am a proud owner of a Volvo s60 2000 model. The car moves great. Just on Monday after parking the car and switching the engine off. I noticed that the fan kept on running. I understand that it can be normal for the fan to do so as it will be cooling the turbo. But then it ran for more than 30min draining the battery at the same time. Now what is happening is l have to disconnect the battery for the fan to stop. When l plug the terminal the fan starting rolling even though the key is off the ignition. I am not understanding the problem and can someone help. I am now pulling the terminal everytime l park the car and failure to do so, l have to find someone to jump start me.
Help.

Thank you Woodbury94, l am sure the relay you are referring to is the one attached to the fan with an electrical code. Please confirm to me so that l look for one. It is also referred to as the Fan module right?
