Default FAULTY TCM

2002 S60 2.4T

Was registering faults in TCM (tranmission control module) which wasn't adapting to transmission giving bumps and flares on shifting (AW55-50SN Trans) when new transmission was installed due to internal failing.

Purchased a used one online. Dealer says they cannot reboot software to fit car as it's VIN # specific. This makes no sense as the VADIS line should be able to reset VIN # to match ECU and reload program. Does anyone have any experience on this one here. Is the dealer right or should I go to a new dealer. This is a tough one.

Default RE: FAULTY TCM

When a control module is added to a car it SHOULD NOT have software in it. If your used TCM already has software in it, then you will have issues trying to install it into your current car. The dealer can do a full reload of the software, but I'm not sure if that will take care of the issue.
