Default A few questions about costs and problems with 01 S60

I have a few questions about my 2001 volvo s60 (non-turbo). This is my first car and I have had it since june of this year. My first question is how much does the 90,000 mile service usually go for at a volvo specific shop. Not the dealer. My second question is probably not going to be answered as its something that you cannot (probably) answer just over the internet. My car rattles/vibrates at 2000K all the time when im driving. No matter what gear im in. Was wondering if thats some kind of issue thats been had with other cars.

Also my winshield wiper is stripped where it connects to the motor. I can't seem to find any place to buy OEM Volvo Parts. Also I can't find the whole thing instead of just the blade.

If you are willing to pay a dealer to do a 90K service then you can certainly afford to buy the wipers from the dealer. They can hook you up. If not get on IPD website. Or Ebay.
The rattle can be many things, engine mounts, or wheel balancing or alignment or wheel bearings. It's not normal. Expect to pay through the teeth at the dealer to get that one fixed.
I am still shocked by how many people use the dealer intead of an independant mechanic for routine maintenence. Usually consists of oil change and filters, vehicle check, fluid check, tire rotation, and so on.

The main problem with the 01's was the ETM. It is too sensitive to carbon build up. Volvo is now warrantying it to 10 yrs. 200K miles. No ideas on what the vibration is.

I am talking about an independant mechanic. They specialize in volvo's. I just wanted to know how much the 90K services usually cost. No idea what an IPD website is could you shed some more light on that.

I haven't reached the 90K plateau yet. However, the 60K was about $600 USD at Volvo of Louisville, Kentucky. IPD is an aftermarket supplier of performance and other upgrades for Volvos.

Would you mind posting a list of everything covered in your 90K service, Colinruss? Just curious what is done.

This is what my mechanic does and some of it is extra. He replaces all the fluids except for the transmission unless it needs it. New Air Filter, Cabin Air Filter, Changes The Oil/Oil Filter, Full Saftey Check, New Glow Plugs. I guess when you think about it 437 is a good deal.
