I'm hoping someone here can help me...when my 2004 S60 gets just below the 1/2 tank marker on the gage, it (the gage) fluctuates all over the place. One minute it reads just under a 1/2 tank then it will drop down to empty and the light will come on. This happened last week, so I filled it up at the gas station and it only took 13 gallons of gas even though the gage was registering empty. If I am correct, the car has an 18 gallon tank. It has been to the dealership three times with no fix yet. They have done system upgrade and refit and retourqed the rubber line to filler neck inside the fuel tank to correct the problem so far but it has not corrected it. Any ideas?

 

I have the same problem with my 03 S60. It fluctuates when its full too, though. Im sending it in for warranty service tomarrow. We'll see what happens.
