Front brake problems 2013 S60
My 2013 S60 has had recurring problems with the front brakes. Is this a common problem with S60s? In Aug. 2016, I felt shimmying in the steering wheel when braking at speeds over 50 mph. Front brake pads and rotors were changed. The problem recurred in Feb. 2018. Rotors were replaced under warranty from the 2016 work. Now (Apr. 2019) the shimmying while braking over 50 mph is happening again. Have others experienced this problem?

I don't think there's anything special about the brakes on a 2013 S60 so I'd suspect that one of the calipers is not retracting fully or there's a pressure issue from the master or lines. Did the shop do a pressure test to make sure both wheels are getting the correct amount of pressure at full force? I take it they simply replaced the pads/rotor and didn't service the caliper??

similar problems like a shimmy? My experience is that its hard to tell if its the front or rear brakes acting up from the driver's seat. To add to Pretorian's comment - I always replace rotors when doing pads and stick with top brands (Brembo, Zimmermann, Bosch ). I've gone full circle on pads and I'm back to using OEM organics (more dust but better driveability). I always clean the calipers, inspect the dust boots and lube the slider pins (make sure your kit includes brake lube. I also clean the rotors with brake cleaner before installing as they ship with grease coating to prohibit rust while in storage/shipping. Avoid hard braking for the first few hundred miles. If you have a hard stop, ease your foot off and do a slow roll to let the rotors cool.
