Default Front door speaker?

I just purchased an 01 S60 2.4t and the right front speaker (bottom of the door) sounds pretty bad. I would like to replace it and I was wondering ifit should be replaced with a stock speaker? Also, how difficult would it be to replace? Does the speaker cover come off or do you have to take off the door panel?

I was hoping to avoid taking it to a dealer if this is fairly easy.

Thanks for the help!

You should not get the OEM speakers, go get some good aftermarket speakers, i would recomend some clarion or jlaudio, also I think that the OEM are expensive,
about instalation, you need to get the whole door panel, the rest is a easy instalation. Maybe a level 2 instalation out of 5, dont go to the dealer.

they are a pain to replace....they have theses special bolts that lock them in, i had them professionally done when i saw how hard it was to break those bolts, they had to build a special piece for the new speaker to hold correctly in the slot....

Why would anyone make speakers so hard to repair or change. Especially since so me people change speakers or audio so often. That is just a poor design.....or maybe not (makes it easier to spend money letting the dealer complete the repair). I am going to live with the sound as long as I can and have the dealer or a good aftermarket place install some new ones. I may even try myself one day.....

Thanks
