Default front mount intercooler

OK I want to do a few mild up grades to my 2003 2.4t , I don't want to go to crazy cause the car is my daily driver and don't want to do any tunning and I would like to keep the great mpg I'm getting ( compared to my highly modded 03 maxima). So what's the stock size of are intake charge pipe ? I would like to do FMI but keep the stock size piping and stock piping and just reroute a nicer better looking intercooler up front...
Any help would be great
